Who is our national association
Agder Contemporary Art Centre is affiliated with the association Art Centers in Norway (KiN). This is an artist-run network mediation institution. In Norway, there are fifteen Art Centres by county, which since its inception in the mid-1970s has been professional artist controlled dissemination institutions. Although each Art Centre is distinctive and works from different backgrounds they share all of the same objectives: Non-commercial viewing and dissemination of contemporary art expression, and ensure artists’ freedom of expression in society. In addition performing Artist Centres / Art Centres do tasks on behalf of the public associated with the arts, such as appointing artistic consultants for art commissions in public buildings, function as the secretariat for Exhibition Scholarships from the government, distribute BKH funds and are suppliers to The Cultural Rucksack.
